OUR GOALS

We offer personalized study programs for international students in different fields, from Italian language and culture, to Art, Art History, Literature, Communications, Business, Political Science, Economics, Fashion and Culinary Arts.

Our school is renown for its well-prepared programs, high-quality teachers, professional and courteous secretarial staff as well as its altogether pleasant environment. The school also offers many optional extracurricular activities (guided tours of the city, cooking courses, cultural activities, lectures and seminars, movies, etc.) as well as internship opportunities.

While studying in Florence , students will choose from a wide variety of university level course offerings and internship opportunities and earn credits valid at their home institutions. All courses at APT (Academic Programs in Tuscany ) are based on U.S. university academic standards in terms of course credits, contact hours, course syllabi, grading system, mid-term and final exams, etc. APT is also officially authorized by the Italian Ministry of Education.

ACADEMIC STANDARDS

APT's programs are geared to the academic standards of excellence required by American colleges and universities.

Credits earned are transferable to most academic institutions in the United States . A full semester program allows students to earn an average of 16 academic credits, comparable to the credit system of most American colleges and universities.

APT FACULTY AND TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

APT's is famous for the high quality teaching of Italian Language and Culture. We have a young and energetic, highly experienced and well-trained team of teachers. We are known not only for our innovative techniques but also the friendly, lively atmosphere of our classes.
All instructors are native speakers of Italian and university graduates, trained in the teaching of Italian as a foreign language.

In addition to solid teaching experience, they have themselves been students of a foreign language or second language, in Italy or abroad.

The teaching materials are carefully selected, and all level of language skills taught aim at a communicative approach. In this full immersion environment, students immediately put into practice what they have learned.
Every student receives a certificate of participation.

CREDIT TRANSFERS

At the end of the student's study period, APT will send an official transcript, complete with grades and credit hours, and a copy of the signed Advisor Approval Form to the home college or university, where it will be converted into credits.

The Administrative Director in the United States will provide all the information you may need on course descriptions, credits etc. to submit to your Registrar or Dean as well as any general information.
